About Gordon's Home & Garden
Welcome to Gordon's Home & Garden — a one-person, hands-on property improvement service based in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, covering the surrounding area.
I specialise in improving homes and gardens from the ground up, from fencing, gates, patios and landscaping outside, to kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, decorating and property improvements inside. Whether it's a small repair, a garden transformation or a larger renovation, I provide a practical, personal service with the same attention to detail on every job.
With over 15 years of experience in welding, fabrication, construction and property maintenance, I have built my reputation on doing things properly. I take pride in producing work that is not only functional, but built to last and finished to a standard I am happy to put my name to.
Every property and every customer is different, which is why I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I take the time to understand what you want to achieve, offer honest advice and find a solution that works for your property, your budget and the way you want to use the space.

About Matt
Before starting Gordon's Home & Garden, I spent 15 years serving in the military as a metalsmith, working extensively in welding, fabrication, repair and maintenance.
During that time I worked on everything from armoured vehicles and Land Rovers to heavy machinery and specialist equipment. Working in that environment taught me the importance of precision, reliability and attention to detail — and, perhaps most importantly, getting the job right first time.
I left the military in 2023 and continued working across different areas of construction, fabrication, property maintenance and home improvements. Over time, I realised that I wanted to build something of my own where I could bring together the skills and experience I'd developed over the years.
That became Gordon's Home & Garden.
Although the business has grown beyond my original background in gates and metal fabrication, the principles remain exactly the same: quality workmanship, honest advice, attention to detail and taking pride in the finished job.
Whether I'm building a fence, laying a patio, renovating a room, fitting flooring or carrying out a repair, I approach the work in exactly the same way — understand what needs to be achieved, plan it properly and do the job to a standard I'm proud of.
I'm not interested in rushing through jobs or cutting corners. I want customers to be happy with the finished result and confident enough to call me again when they need something else doing.

All work is fully insured, and I hold the correct waste carrier licensing for garden and property clearances, so everything is removed and disposed of responsibly.

Matt did a fantastic job of levelling my porch floor then tiled it and put skirting around also put in a window cill. He was very professional, polite and cleaned up after himself. I would highly recommend him and will undoubtedly be using him again for any future work I need doing. Great maticulous work.
Just had my garden transformed by Matt and his worker Mat, they worked solidly for 4 days and did an amazing job, they are really lovely people, kind, respectful, and really hard working. I have no hesitation about recommending them to anyone. Five star plus rating from me.
